This guide explains how to cancel an upcoming maintenance payment on the platform and how to abandon all future maintenance payments for a particular IP right

Cancel an upcoming maintenance payment - Cancel
If you need to cancel an upcoming maintenance payment which has already been scheduled in your account for any reason, this can be done for one or for multiple orders from the Orders section of your iPify account in the following way
- Navigate to the Orders section in your account

- Click on 'Annuities' at the top of the page to filter your view to show only upcoming maintenance payments

- Find the upcoming payment/s that you are looking to cancel by entering your reference or the iPify reference into the search bar at the top of your Orders listing

- Once you have the relevant order/s in your view you can either
- Cancel orders individually
- Click on the arrow next to the 'Instruct' button to the right of the order

- Select 'Cancel' from the drop-down list

- A pop-up box will appear asking you to confirm the cancellation. Click 'Confirm cancellation'

- Click on the arrow next to the 'Instruct' button to the right of the order
- Cancel multiple orders
- Select all upcoming payments that you want to cancel by clicking on the box on the left-hand side of each case or using the 'Select all' button at the top of the table if you wish to cancel all visible payments

- Once you have selected all payments that you wish to cancel, click on 'Cancel' which will appear at the foot of the page as soon as a case has been selected

- A pop-up box will appear asking you to confirm the cancellation. Click 'Confirm cancellation'

- Select all upcoming payments that you want to cancel by clicking on the box on the left-hand side of each case or using the 'Select all' button at the top of the table if you wish to cancel all visible payments
- Cancel orders individually
- Once you have cancelled the upcoming payments, they will now be displayed in your account in a 'Cancelled' state and no further action will be taken by iPify to make these payments.
- Any future payments relevant to these patents will still be scheduled in your account at the appropriate time and will be available to you for instruction
IMPORTANT - Please note - If you cancel an order on the platform and then delete the cancelled order, the platform will repopulate the order the following day. Our platform runs a scheduler each night to populate any upcoming annuities due in the coming 12 months for any patent that exists in your account. In order to avoid this, cancelled orders should be left as 'Cancelled' in your account and not deleted. Should no further payments be required for a specific patent please use 'Cancel and abandon' as outlined below.
Cancel all present and future maintenance payments for an IP right - Cancel and abandon case
If you need to cancel an upcoming maintenance payment for an IP right that has been scheduled in your account and you wish to cancel all future maintenance payments for this IP right, this can be done from the Orders section of your iPify account in the following way
- Navigate to the Orders section in your account

- Click on 'Annuities' at the top of the page to filter your view to show only upcoming maintenance payments

- Find the upcoming payment that you are looking to cancel by entering your reference or the iPify reference into the search bar at the top of your Orders listing

- Once you have the relevant order in your view you can click on the arrow next to the 'Instruct' button to the right of the order

- Select 'Cancel and abandon case' from the drop down list

- A pop up box will appear advising you that you are about to cancel the upcoming payment that has been selected and that you will also abandon maintenance of the selected patent in your account and ask you to confirm your instruction.

- Click 'Confirm cancellation and abandon'
- Once you have confirmed your instruction to cancel and abandon, any upcoming orders that were scheduled in your account for this patent will be displayed in a 'Cancelled' state and no further action will be taken by iPify to make these payments
- No further payments for this patent will be scheduled in your account for instruction
Cancel a maintenance payment that has already been instructed on the platform
If you need to cancel a maintenance payment for an IP right that has already been instructed in your account you will need to contact iPify as soon as possible to request that we cancel your instruction.
The best way to do this is via the 'Live Chat' which is available to you from any page in your iPify account using the purple box with the question mark at the bottom right hand side of your page.

Click on this box and select 'Need to chat with us ?' and you will then be able to send us a message with your request to cancel your instruction.

Please provide us with the reference number and as much detail as possible on what should be cancelled and we will attend to your request as soon as possible and keep you updated.
