An easy guide on how you can generate powers of attorney before, during or after your instruction
Onboard your case and prepare orders
After onboarding your patent and adding your jurisdictions or services, click on “Generate PoAs” found at the bottom of your screen alongside other actions.
We will automatically detect which jurisdictions from the jurisdictions you added require a power of attorney, so you don’t have to remember which ones are needed. That means jurisdictions that do not require a power of attorney, will not be listed on the "Generate PoAs" page.
Download PoAs from past quotes or orders
If you have already performed a quote/order and want to download the PoAs afterwards, you only need to search for your case on the platform using your reference or the patent number
Click on your case
You will land on the "Summary" page where you can view past quotes or orders and it is here that you can also generate powers of attorney.
Downloading general powers of attorney (GPoAs)
By default, you’ll generate specific powers of attorney. However, if you or your client require a general power of attorney for one or more countries, simply click the available option "General power of attorney".
Reviewing the applicant data and adding signatory details
We invite you to review your selection along with the applicant details. You also have the option to add signatory details to your powers of attorney including the date and place.
🗒️Note :
The information you enter will be applied to all jurisdictions, unless you indicate otherwise, in which case you de-select the box entitled "Use same applicant and signatory for all generated documents".
Downloading the powers of attorney
To download the powers of attorney click on “Generate and download documents”.
They will download as a single PDF batch document, separated per applicant, for the selected jurisdictions. The document is ready to be executed.
Generate your powers of attorney at any time
Remember, you can come back to generate your powers of attorney at any time, before, during or after your instruction. First, find your case, go to orders and then click “Generate PoAs”
Frequently asked questions
What if the applicant's details on the powers of attorney are incorrect?
To ensure a smooth and efficient validation process, only iPify will be able to amend the applicant's name and address. So if you intend to undergo a request for change at the EPO, please tell us by Message, email or Live chat and provide the new applicant details.
