Power of attorney deadlines: What are they and where can I find them?

In this article, we'll cover how to find out the general rule for PoA deadlines in a jurisdiction and how you can find a specific deadline for your case.

Some jurisdictions require a PoA to be filed alongside the validation (or at least within a certain timeframe of the validation). Each jurisdiction has its own rules for when it should be submitted. 

General information on deadlines to submit a Power of attorney 

For your general information on submission deadlines for powers of attorneys, type the jurisdiction name you want to gather the information on. If a POA is necessary in that jurisdiction, you will find the deadline to submit requirements.

In applicable jurisdictions, you can locate the case-specific deadline to file a PoA following these steps:

Italy example

Search for your patent and click on it.

By default, you will land on the summary page.

Click the jurisdiction - in this case Italy.

On “Tasks”, click on “Control validation filing” 

Here you will find the “Deadline to file power of attorney(s)”
