By default, you will land on the option to send a message to your "Network". This means iPify and any applicable agents.  ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Oct-24-2023-10-44-54-8149-AM.png) Then click "+ New message" ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-12-20-3954-PM.png) Under "Recipient", select iPify and write your message. The message will be tied to your case so there is no need to specify your reference or the patent number.  ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-12-54-5581-PM.png) Then when you're ready, click "Send message". #### Request an acknowledgement For those highly important messages and for peace of mind, you can request an acknowledgement of receipt from us by ticking the box (see below). ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/Screenshot%202023-01-31%20182737-png.png) We will sometimes request the same from you just to ensure we know you've received our highly important messages.  #### Upload a file Send us PoAs or translations by attaching them to your message. Drag and drop or "Select a file" to upload. ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-29-48-1117-PM.png)   **💡Tip** Use the "Show more" feature to refer to the Patent info, orders placed and the current status of each jurisdiction/service whilst writing your message.  ![](https://help.ipify.app/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-02-59-4047-PM.png?width=279&height=253&name=image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-02-59-4047-PM.png)   ### Receive a message When we send you a message, you will receive a notification to your preferred email address. ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-35-17-0490-PM.png) A link will be provided to take you straight to the message so you can view or reply. ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Jan-31-2023-05-36-00-1361-PM.png) You can also view any sent or received messages for your case at any time by searching for your case and navigating to the "Messages" section.  ### Internal notes You can organise your file by leaving case notes or attachments on the patent for you or your colleagues. Just tab across to "**Internal notes**" as highlighted below and begin adding your information. ![](https://help.ipify.app/hubfs/image-png-Oct-24-2023-10-58-44-2316-AM.png) Then follow the same simple steps as [writing a message](https://help.ipify.app/knowledge/writing-and-receiving-messages#a1)to add your internal note or save an attachment **Frequently asked questions** ***Can I use "Messages" on my case to contact iPify before instructing my patent?*** Before instructing your patent, you will only be able to use the "Messages" section on your case to send "Internal" messages (i.e. to your entity).
